Hemamtite, also known to be spelled Haematite, is a hard and heavy iron oxide crystal that has a high iron content (70%). It's name comes from the Greek word for "blood", and legend says it was form by the blood of warriors soaking into the ground on battlefields. For three thousand years, the stone has been linked to magick and blood, as it was used to help stop bleeding in both childbirth and battlegrounds. It was worn to protect against curses and keeps the wearer firmly grounded.
